Playing with the scarecrow

Fun with pumpkins!

Pumpkin Patch Fun!

Well, we recently took John to the pumpkin patch and boy did he have fun! We also met our friend's Dale and Leah and their precious little girl Lily. She's 4 months older than John so we were excited to have a playdate with her. Plus, Leah and I have already decided they are getting married, so it's better that they start being around one another sooner than later. We think that arranged marriages should make a comeback! heh! heh! The funny part of the trip is that John seemed to have more fun in the hay pit than with the actual pumpkins...he loved the hay! Of course, mommy was cleaning out hay from his pants all day...I kept finding strands in the car, around the house, and inside his diaper! I changed his diaper at a restaurant and a whole pile of hay came tumbling out...I'm sure the restaurant people will be wondering where that came from. I just told them a scarecrow used their bathroom! :) And, with my immature humor, I thought it would be funny to walk in the bathroom and loudly say "hay!"...then when someone would say "what" I would just point to the hay. :) Haven't I mentioned it's the little things that make life fun?? :)

Ok, back to the original point...the pumpkin patch was so much fun. Aunt Shauna was in town and John loved all the attention. We stayed out there playing for quite awhile and just soaked in the sun...and hay of course. Enjoy the pics!

Isn't Lily adorable?? I love this picture!

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween everyone!! Of course John had to dress in yet another Halloween shirt today. :) He was a little too wiggly this morning for me to get a good shot, but I figured you can tell enough from these pics. His shirt says "Mommy's Little Monster." I just loved that! And, the monster lights up, so on the first picture, he's playing with the lighted up area. Of course, I didn't really think it through when I bought the shirt...sending John to school with a shirt that blinks and lights up is probably not the best idea...think about nap time and trying to get him to calm down and quit playing with the blinky lights...oopsy! I'm sure the ladies at his school are going to love me today. Hopefully John will just give them the puppy dog eyes...that always makes me forget about anything negative he might have done....although since he's an angel, that never really happens...heh! heh!

Pumpkin carving continued

More pumpkin carving photos

Carving our first pumpkin

Barry and I decided that it would be fun to carve a pumpkin with John since this is the first Halloween he can actually understand a little of what's going on. Seeing that last year he was 3 months old and just laid in my arms while kids rang the doorbell, and then eventually fell asleep so I was quietly handing out candy to the kiddos. :)

John really enjoyed carving the pumpkin, although, he didn't really want to get his hands dirty. He really liked WATCHING daddy scoop out the insides and carve the face. However once daddy gave John the spoon to scoop out the insides, he went to town. He had so much fun playing with the spoon in the pumpkin. I'm beginning to think our little boy has more of mommy in him than we realize...he loves shoes and doesn't want to touch the icky pumpkin guts! heh! heh! Oh, one other thing, the reason my sweet little boy doesn't have pants on is because daddy changed a poopy diaper just before the pumpkin carving and decided he was a little too wiggly to try and get those pants back on. :) I've heard chunky thighs are quite appealing right now, so John is just very modern with his dress attire. :)

Cutest Monkey!

So, I just couldn't wait until Halloween to share some of the pictures of John in his costume...I just get so tickled everytime I see them and had to share! He is going to be a monkey this year...with his jungle themed room and monkey items everywhere, I figured it was fitting...plus the fact that he LOVES bananas didn't hurt either. Notice the banana in his pocket when he's playing with the dog's cages...so cute! These are some photos of the night he was going to his school's fall festival...I just couldn't stop smiling and hugging that boy in his pillowy costume. And, no...for all the people wondering...that is not entirely his belly, the costume has some pillowy stuff in the front. :) He may be a chunky monkey...but not THAT chunky! I will definitely be posting more pictures from Halloween...but these were just too cute not to share.

Halloween Shirt Day

Today was Halloween Shirt Day at John's school...so of course mommy had to dress him up. And, I just couldn't find any Halloween shirts that said anything besides "I love my mummy." There just weren't any others...really. :) He also had some adorable bat crocs to wear with his shirt...and he was quite proud of them...just kept pointing to them and smiling. Mommy smiles when she gets new shoes too! :)

Happy Almost Halloween

Trying to get a 15 month old to sit still, hold a balloon, look at mommy, and then smile for the camera is quite the task. Especially since he LOVES balloons and loves to RUN with them. :) So, here's our attempt at wishing everyone a Happy Halloween...ar according to the first picture, Yppah Neewollah! :)
