Playing at the playground

Here's John posing all studly for the camera....good thing he has a muscle shirt on so all those muscles can be shown off! :)
Enjoying daddy's water bottle...he LOVES to drink out of these!

Here's a picture of the infamous "fruit stick." Cliff Bar makes these kid fruit sticks that John just adores. It's his favorite snack and if he sees one in his bag he'll repeatedly say "fruit stick" until he has one. :)

Now that's some fruit stick pride!

John's cute monkey hat. :)

I think the water hose won!

Drying off with daddy. My sweet boys!!

More fun in the water!!

Water fun!!

Well, we have the new exciting toy of the century...dum dum dum dum (that's supposed to be a drumroll :))....it's a water hose!! You see, after Barry was done planting his new herbs, he needed to water them. John got so tickled by the water coming out of the hose, that Barry started sprinkling him with water. I think these photos are priceless...his excitement is so pure and joyous! When was the last time any of us has just let loose and enjoyed ourselves like that?? :)

Planting with Daddy

We recently bought some herbs to plant in pots in the backyard...Barry likes to cook with fresh herbs so we planted some basil and rosemary. John thought he would be very helpful in planting with daddy, he was VERY excited to have permission to play in dirt! LOL!

The Bubbles King!

A couple of weekends ago, we spent some time outside just playing around with John. One thing he REALLY enjoys is bubbles. He has this huge wand that you dip in bubbles that he loves playing with....I took a few pictures capturing this treasured moment. The second one looks like he's a King holding his sceptre. So funny!

It's just a hat...not a dunce hat!

So, when we picked John up from church last weekend, they had this huge silver thing in his bag that he had received from class. Well, when John saw his bag he starting yelling out "hat mommy!" I pulled it out of the bag and found this lovely silver hat...more like a dunce hat!! He wanted to wear it so badly, so I proceeded to put it on his head and let him run around. I thought it was quite funny and adorable, but I started to wonder if he was the only one with the "special" hat....hmmmm...was he wearing the "special" hat in the corner of the room??? I was then relieved to see that other children had the same hat, but they weren't quite as enthused as my boy on wearing them. Oh well...if you're going to wear a hat like that, you should go all out and enjoy it! Barry of course wondered why he got the silver hat instead of gold....gotta love my athletic hubby! :)

Look how tall I am!

Recently we had a meeting at church for our ABF class, so John went with us and stayed in the church childcare. Well, afterwards, we had some playtime with Lily since her parents were at the meeting. Lily's dad (Dale) put her on his shoulders and then John immediately started saying "daddy head" and trying to climb up on Barry...he's already on the short side, so seeing Lily get so much taller was just not acceptable! :) He climbed on Barry's head and proceeded to giggle and enjoy himself (which is a good description of John about everything!). I thought the pictures were so cute and had to share.

This one makes me laugh because John has this tendency to hold onto Barry's eyes for support! This leads to some eye gouging which was captured nicely in this photo. Don't worry about any future photos of Barry with an eye patch..it's all healing nicely. LOL!

Lily with her daddy

What a crew!

Totally asleep!

This was John going into the Cheesecake Factory that I mentioned in the next blog. He had fallen asleep in the car and was so pooped that he didn't even wake up when Barry got him out of the car. Is there anything more precious than a sleeping child?? :)

Ooh, look at the wada (a.k.a. water) :)

So, last weekend we went to eat at the Cheesecake Factory in Plano since it's near Central Market (which we visit every weekend :)). Well, they have this great outdoor pond area that John LOVES to look at. He enjoys walking by the water and seeing the cool waterfall. Well, this visit was no exception, he was so excited when we walked outside and kept pointing and saying "wada!" which is "water." He wanted to climb on the bench and stare at the waterfall...I thought the pictures were so cute that I had to share!

I think this one is him saying "ooh! cool waterfall! I wonder if I could get in the water before mommy caught me?" :)

Toddler mess!

John had lots of fun with his Easter basket from Mawmaw and Daddy John..it's amazing how quickly a neatly packaged basket can be disassembled! These pictures show just how that happens and how much fun a bucket can be on your head! LOL! I think I'm still cleaning up easter grass from that day...heh! heh!

Easter basket fun!

Well, John had a great Easter this year! He had several egg hunts and several easter gift baskets which meant lots of fun and toys!! One of the baskets he received was from Mawmaw and Daddy John (a.k.a. Gaggy :)). There were so many fun toys and things...the second picture cracks me up...he looks so excited to get those tootsie rolls when he has no idea what those are! :) The dancing bunny was new too...it sings "Tootie Fruity" and John LOVES it! The last few are from the bubble gun he got...lots of fun! I thought the last picture was awesome with how well that bubble timed out when I took the picture. :)

John's Easter Egg Hunt at School

This blog is a little late, but still worthy of posting. :) John had his first easter egg hunt at school (well, the first one that he could understand what he was doing :)). He was really excited when I talked to him about the easter egg hunt and what he would be doing. When it was time to go hunt eggs, we went outside and they had the eggs scattered everywhere. Most of the kids just walked around staring at the eggs and their easter bags and had no idea what to do. John ran up to an egg, picked it up, and then was very entertained by shaking it and hearing the candy inside bounce around. I had to tell him to go pick up more eggs instead of just settling on one little egg. :) He then proceeded to start picking up eggs, and once he realized the purpose of the egg hunt, he was on fire. He went around picking up eggs and putting them in his basket as quick as he could. Some of the kids would be standing right by eggs and not picking them up , so John would casually walk by and snag the egg...that's my boy! When they ran out of eggs, he looked at me and said "more?" It was so cute!!! His first egg hunt was a huge success. I had a great video of the egg hunt, but for some reason, my camera won't download the file...it has downloaded everything else from that day, so not sure what the problem was, but hopefully I can post the video soon. This picture was John starting to cry because he didn't understand that the egg hunt was outside, and they were rounding up all the kids to go outside..he wanted to do the mysterious easter egg hunt thingy mommy had been talking about, but instead, they were rounding them up to go outside. Once I explained to him what was going on, he was happy as a lark and had a great time...but I still thought this picture was precious. :)
