Talking With Santa

John recently had a visit with Santa Claus at the mall, and boy was he excited!! He kept talking about wanting to see Santa and had the biggest smile on his face.  We talked with him about Santa in hopes of keeping him excited about seeing him and not getting worried that we were handing him off to some stranger to sit in his lap.  :) When we talked to him about what he wanted to ask for Christmas from Santa, he said "a choo choo train."  He seemed very confident in this response, but we weren't sure if he could still be that confident with Santa or perform the "deer in the headlights" look that can occur quite often with strangers.

Once we made it up to Santa, Barry picked up John and took him to see him.  This Santa was so nice and looked just like the real thing (never stop believing! :)).  Santa asked John if he had been a good boy and he said "yes"...then he asked if he had been listening to his mommy and daddy and he said "yes"...after that the inevitable "what would you like Santa to bring you" question came forward and John proudly stated "a choo choo train!"  The photographer happened to capture this precious moment perfectly as you can see from the first picture...his little mouth is forming the "choo choo" portion.  What a wonderful experience for mommy and daddy...oh how I LOVE the Christmas season! Oh, one last thing...when we left Santa they gave him a bag with some crayons and coloring pages and John opened the bag and looked up at us and asked "where's my choo choo train?"  I guess we forgot to clarify exactly when Santa would bring him the toy.  :)  Oh the preciousness of innocence! :)

John "The Elf" Brooks

So, my good friend Jennifer recently sent me an email with a link to the best website ever. It is one where you can "elf" someone by just adding their headshot to the video. She used several pictures of John and it is quite hilarious....so I just had to share. :) Beware of cuteness overload! :)

How to eat a Christmas cookie

I stopped by the Starbucks in Krogers yesterday to grab a gingerbread latte and a little treat for John before grocery shopping. Well he had his eye on their huge polar bear Christmas cookies and mommy decided he really needed one. What you can't see on the cookie is the red icing used to make the polar bear's scarf. He had that red icing everywhere as can be seen from the second picture. :)
