Halloween 2009 (a little late)

Well, I seem to be running a little behind in posting the Halloween pictures this year.  But, at least it's still 2009 when I'm posting them, right? :)   Before it was time for Halloween, we talked with John about what Halloween was and that you get to pick something to dress up as.  When I would get catalogs in, I would sit down with him and ask which character he wanted to be.  Well, it was confirmed over and over that he wanted to be Elmo this year.  I knew daddy was just going to leap for joy when he found out John wanted the fuzzy red Elmo costume for Halloween...I mean, how much manlier can you get??? :)  Mommy thinks the costume is quite adorable and seeing the smile on John's face when he put it on the first time was priceless! The funniest thing about the costume is that the eyes and noes are on top of the head, so every time John bent over, it looked like Elmo was staring me right in the eyes...it got a little weird at times! heh! heh!

My big boy

This morning I dressed John in his jacket as usual and he always pulls the hoodie on (mainly because daddy wears hoodie sweatshirts and he wants to be just like him :)). Then he put on his backpack to carry some extra clothes to school since he tends to make quite a mess sometimes during art. :). It was at this moment that I realized what a big boy he's turned into and I had flashes of himself starting the first day of kindergarten! Sniff sniff...my baby boy is such a big boy now! :)

Flirting at 2 :)

We had a Sunday school thanksgiving outing and John and Lily were able to play together for awhile. They were pushing each other and falling down and they thought it was the funniest thing! Who knew flirting started so early! :)

Watching TV with friends

John doesn't seem to like watching TV alone. He recently brought all his stuffed animal friends to the couch to sit with him. And this morning, he brought the Potato Head family that we had built. He's such a popular guy! :)

I love sushi!

I bought some sushi for dinner recently and John LOVED it! He ate so much and kept wanting more. I love it!

State Fair 2009

At the end of the kid's farm they had these animal cutouts for you to take your picture. We had quite a blast having John put his face in them. :). He seemed to like the pig the most. :)

State Fair 2009

One of the neat things we did at the fair was visit this little kids farm area. They had it all set up where you walk from the chicken house to the garden to the milking area and so on. It was all set up with fake animals and crops but it was a really fun experience for John.

State Fair 2009

John really loved the State Fair this year. He was very intrigued by the feeding zoo and all the neat animals. He also enjoyed having a big bite of cotton candy during the day. :).

Cutest Superman Ever

John was dressed in his superman tshirt this weekend and he just looked so cute that I had to share.

Future artist!

So John now has a Mr. Potato head and he loves it! The funny thing is that he calls it "tomato" head and I just giggle everytime he says that. Anyway, he's been playing with MPH (that's the cool way to abbreviate...or I'm at least calling it cool :)) most everyday and building some very artsy persons. He's funny because he'll say "look mommy. I made a girl. She's pretty." And you will see how pretty she is from the pictures below. :). He is always quite proud of his masterpiece and he doesn't like it when mommy says a tongue really isn't a nose or a giant pink ear isn't really a mouth. So now we just go with it and I let him explore his creative side. I'm a little worried now on what the "pretty" girl will be like that he decides to marry one day. Heh. Heh.

Lily and John - beam me up!

These are pictures from a few weeks ago but they are just too cute not to share. Me and Lily's mom giggle at some of the ones we take because our little kiddos won't be still so one of them looks like they're beaming in or out like star trek. :). It's just fun to see then acting goofy and enjoying themselves. :)

How to watch a race with daddy

This past weekend I had a half-marathon race to gear up my run training. I'm planning to do the White Rock half-marathon in December and then the Austin marathon in February (I think :)). Anyway, while mommy was out running, daddy and John found a great way to pass the time...the playground! When I finished my race, John was just going on and on about "I went swinging mommy...I went backwards!" He was beaming with pride and I think these photos will show you why...daddy was giving him a mighty push on the swing! My favorite picture is the last one..just look at that smile...he was LOVING it!
